Biography

Armando Sodano was born in 1963 in Naples. He graduated at the Liceo Artistico ( secondary high school of Art) in Latina and obtained his degree in 1988 at the Accademy of Fine Art in Rome where he attended the course of stage designer. The title of his final dissertation, regarding the Art history, was “Sabaudia between rationalism and metaphysics”.
His first exhibition was in 1990 when he took part in ' Premio di Pittura della Città di Latina' [Latina Picture Award], organized in the local Palace of Culture. Then, Armando had many artistic experiences and, at the same time, teaching ones. He got three different qualifications allowing him teaching in different fields: Art education, Drawing and art history, Geometric architectural disciplines and interior design. He taught this last subject for some years at the secondary school of Art in Pozza di Fassa (Trento).

In 1988 he draw a wall decoration for the Military Marine in Sabaudia (Latina).

As a teacher of the Secondary School of Alba di Canazei (TN) he won the first prize at the theatre exhibition for children “Il Mangiafuoco” organized by the Trentino Alto Adige region. [ He made the stage design ]. He painted numerous frescos for private clients and organized various illustration courses about fables for the library of Tesero (Trento).

He participated to festival of music and visual art in GUARDIA SANFRAMONDI (BN) “SIX DAY SONIC MADNESS”. He was one of the finalists at the International Award of Figurative Art “José Ortega”, “Medusa Aurea Trophy” organized by the International Accademy of Modern Art with an exhibition from 21 to 26 May 2001 in Rome. He was one of 25 finalists at the International Award of Figurative Art, Massenzio Arte, 'Leonardesque artist of 3° millennium' [ the president of jury was Antonio Passa, director of 'Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome' ]. He took part in the Exhibition called 'Memory of Futurism' as guest artist, at the Palace of Culture in Latina in 2003; he also took part in 'Artexpo 2003' in New York.

In 2005 he was invited, as visual artist, to the 'Decennale di Massenzio Arte'. He was also one of the finalists with special indication to the 'International Contest' devised by the city of Arezzo for planning hilts of “Golden Spear ” for the 'Saracino's carousel'. He won the first award to the 'Estemporanea di pittura' in Villa Santo Stefano (FR).

His works are showned in public and private collections.

Actually he lives and works in Borgo San Michele (Latina) and teaches Art at the secondary school “N.Prampolini” of Borgo Podgora (Latina).
